Description

Argentine fleabane, scientifically known as Erigeron bonariensis, is a notable species within the Asteraceae family. First described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1753 seminal work, “Species Plantarum,” this plant is native to regions ranging from Mexico to tropical areas of the Americas.

Commonly referred to as Argentine fleabane due to its prevalence in South American countries such as Argentina, this species thrives in warm climates and can often be found in disturbed soils, roadsides, and various open habitats. It plays a crucial role in local ecosystems by offering habitats and food sources for insects and other small organisms.

Characterized by its slender stems, the Argentine fleabane reaches impressive heights and is topped with small, daisy-like flowers.
