To add the Active Directory snap-in on Windows Server 2008, you need to install the Active Directory Domain Services role and then use the Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in. Follow these steps to install the role and add the ADUC snap-in:
- Install the Active Directory Domain Services role:
a. Click on the “Start” button, then select “Administrative Tools” and click on “Server Manager.”
b. In the Server Manager window, click on “Roles” in the left pane, then click on “Add Roles” in the right pane.
c. In the Add Roles Wizard, click “Next” to bypass the “Before You Begin” page.
