To forward calls with CenturyLink, you can use the Call Forwarding feature. This feature allows you to forward incoming calls to another phone number. Here’s how to set up and manage Call Forwarding with CenturyLink:
- Activate Call Forwarding: a. Pick up your phone and listen for the dial tone. b. Dial *72 (for rotary phones, dial 1172). c. Listen for the second dial tone. d. Dial the phone number you want to forward calls to. Be sure to include the area code if it’s different from yours. e. Wait for the call to be answered by the forwarded number or voicemail. Once the call is answered or goes to voicemail, Call Forwarding is activated. If the call is not answered, repeat steps a-e within two minutes, and Call Forwarding will be activated even if the call is not answered.
- Deactivate Call Forwarding: a. Pick up your phone and listen for the dial tone. b. Dial *73 (for rotary phones, dial 1173). c. Listen for two short tones followed by a dial tone, which indicates Call Forwarding has been deactivated.
Please note that these instructions are for CenturyLink landline phones. If you have a different type of CenturyLink service or are using a third-party device, the process might vary. Check your user manual or contact CenturyLink support for further assistance.
Additionally, keep in mind that some features, including Call Forwarding, might not be available with all CenturyLink plans. If you’re having trouble activating Call Forwarding or are unsure if it’s included in your plan, contact CenturyLink customer support for help.
