California rockjasmine, scientifically known as Androsace elongata, is a member of the Primulaceae family. This delicate and fascinating plant was first described in the second edition of “Species Plantarum” (Sp. Pl. ed. 2, App.: 1668) in 1763 by the renowned botanist Carl Linnaeus, often abbreviated simply as “L.”
